The popular game of
Scrabble has been with us for over 60 years. Thanks to principal inventor Alfred Mosher Butts, well over 100 million sets of the game have been sold. In fact, it has soldย between one and two million sets a year over the past decade.
In our family we have three physical sets; a standard version, a children'sย version andย a travel version.
But did you notice how I used theย word '
physical' in the last sentence?
Since the introduction of the iPad(s) into our household of 5,ย the preference has become the Scrabbleย app version.

Quite frankly, it's easier.
We haven't lost any letters from the bag.
The plastic hasn't cracked on any of the tile holders.
There is no fighting over the dictionary.
And we can play on the couch, in the car, at the beach or the moon.
(
ok, not exactly sure about the last one)
If you have a household with multiple iOS devices (you can use iPod Touch or iPhone as tile holders too) give it aย whirl.
If you're into marathon best of 7 matches though, make sure you're fully powered up. That's just like losing your X, Q and Z tiles from the physical versions.
I say iPad for Scrabble.
